Arelis Cuyan-Villanueva — Client Service Associate

Arelis Cuyan-VillanuevaArelis Cuyan-Villanueva brings to the LF Leadership team ten years of experience in project management, planning and implementation.  Her experience working in a diverse range of environments including sales, recruiting, faith-based, education and the military allow her to bring a wealth of experience and skills to each project.

Prior to joining LF Leadership, Arelis served as a Logistics Planner with the Air National Guard, where she planned and managed the logistics of national and international military operations. She was selected to become a commissioned officer in the Air Force and currently serves as the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for the 146th Airlift Wing, Channel Islands Air National Guard Station out of Port Hueneme, CA.   There, she leads a team of airmen in providing communication support and media relations.

In her volunteer service, Arelis is past Director of Youth Ministries for the Perris Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she led a dynamic group of young people in the development of highly needed youth-specific bilingual programming, including spiritual and personal development activities.

Arelis holds a double Bachelor’s Degree in American Literature and Culture and Chicana and Chicano Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles.  At UCLA, Arelis was involved with the Community Program’s Office, where she worked as a Peer Advisor for MEChA de UCLA’s Xinachtli Access Project, an after-school project that targets higher education access for educationally underrepresented youth in the Los Angeles area, and the Raza Youth Empowerment Project, which supports high school students’ access to higher education through community empowerment and engagement.

In her leisure, Arelis enjoys traveling, sampling different foods, reading and spending time with family and friends.
