Yuka Ogino — Client Service Associate
Yuka Ogino has over 10 years of experience in the non-profit and higher education sector. She is passionate about coalition building, leadership development, and serving communities. She started her career at a civil rights organization working with American Muslim and Japanese American youth due to their parallel experiences post 9/11 and World War II.
Wanting to continue her work with youth, she went to Scripps College where she founded a leadership development program focused on empowering students of color. She has created and facilitated over 81 workshops on inclusivity, cultural competency, and coalition building. She has been named an Unsung API Hero, and was awarded Staff of the Year by the student body.
Yuka has served on numerous non-profit boards in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. She currently is Vice Chair and a Cultural Arts Commissioner for the City of Brea. She loves giving back to the communities that nurtured her. She is also a mentor with the Big Brother/Big Sister organization and has been matched with her little for 4 years.
Yuka graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California Los Angeles with degrees in Asian American Studies and Political Science. Her experiences in college helped lay the foundation in how she lives her life personally and professionally: with a social justice lens.
